Parent portal: frequently asked questions

The parent portal is included in every Cantera Soccer plan, at no extra cost per family. Each parent signs in with their own account and checks payments, attendance and their kids' matches without flooding your WhatsApp. Here we answer what academy owners usually ask before signing up.

What do parents see in their portal?
Every parent signs in with their own account and sees only their kids' information: pending and paid charges broken down by child and concept, upcoming matches and results, training sessions with weekly and monthly attendance summaries, and the day's events. Everything is organized in three tabs: Games, Trainings and Payments. Parents can also check your academy's bank details for transfers. Nothing gets captured twice — the portal shows what your staff already records in the platform.
How do parents confirm attendance for a match call-up? Pro plan
On the Pro plan, when a match call-up is saved parents get an automatic WhatsApp message and see it in their portal, in the Games tab, with buttons to confirm or decline their child's attendance, plus an optional note. They have 30 hours from the notice to respond; if they don't (or the match time arrives), the call-up closes automatically as "Not attending". Your coach builds the lineup with certainty and you stop chasing replies in group chats.
How do parents report a bank transfer payment? Pro plan
On the Pro plan, a parent taps "Report payment" in their portal and enters the transfer reference, the concept, the amount and, optionally, a photo of the receipt. The report stays "under review" until your admin approves it — the installment and the income are recorded automatically — or rejects it with a reason. On every plan parents see the academy's bank accounts in their portal; on Basic and Amateur you record the payment once you identify the transfer.
Can parents pay online? Pro plan
Academies on the Pro plan can enable online card payments through Stripe. When active, parents see a "Pay by card" button next to their pending charges and can also turn on monthly auto-charge so their payments are collected automatically. If you prefer to operate with bank transfers and cash only, the portal works the same: parents check your academy's bank details and report their payment for your approval.
How many parent accounts can I create?
As many as you need: parent accounts are unlimited and free on every plan, including Basic at $39.99 USD per month. Limits only apply to staff and players (40 on Basic, 80 on Amateur, unlimited on Pro). Each player can have up to 2 linked guardians, and charges are generated to the primary one. On the Pro plan you can also share an invitation link with the team code so each family registers on its own with up to 5 children.
Do parents get WhatsApp payment reminders? Pro plan
Yes, on the Pro plan ($59.99 USD per month): the platform sends automatic WhatsApp reminders before and after the due date, personalized per family, with no one typing message by message. The plan includes 300 notifications per billing cycle — failed messages don't consume the quota — and every notification type has its own switch, so you decide what goes out. If you need more, you can request extra packages from your dashboard.
Do parents need to install anything on their phones?
There is no app to download from a store and no versions to update: the portal opens in the phone's browser with the parent's username and password. Anyone who wants a shortcut can install it as a web app (PWA): Android shows an "Install the app" prompt, and on iPhone it's Share → Add to Home Screen. For your academy that means zero tech support for families: you share their access and that's it.
